 Loch Fyne | Visitor Guide
  • Argyll, in particular the west coast, the islands and the area of Loch Fyne have all had lots of support in developing creative arts talent and skills.

A good concentration of local artists, musicians, craftspeople and photographers live and work in this inspirational and beautiful area.

  • There are many artists in the area, some you may be familiar with such as Jolomo, and many who you probably have never heard of that produce stunning artwork.

  • From people such as Molly Smith of Tarbert who produces silk originals to Wilma Mackenzie of Luckenbooth that does fine glass engraving there is much to discover from these talented individuals, often off the beaten track.

  • There is not much for teenages to do with their time that doesnt involve schooling or technology, but music is a passion for children from a young age here, and most are schooled well in music resulting in becoming musicians or alternatively being part of band.

  • Loch Fyne has its share of Scottish Pipe Bands too with Mid Argyll ( Lochgilphead) and Inveraray both competing at competitions and having superb bands.

  • Loch Fyne and the surrounding landscapes are simply stunning, at times heavenly, and serves as inspiration to local photographers and to visiting media experts and photographers from all over the world.

From the mist laying low over the loch, to sunsets falling behind castles and villages, Loch Fyne is truly a stunning place that every photographer should venture!
